Who are we?

Owner, Macabe (Muh-Cabe) Rappold, a DSHS & SLU graduate, took over Beach Bums in 2024. Macabe Rappold started playing Beach Volleyball after High School at Beach Bums in 2012 (Then called, Laguna Beach Volleyball).  Macabe spent most of his time in his late teens/early twenties practicing and competing in beach volleyball all around the South, he says that "beach volleyball kept him out of trouble and gave a him a goal to focus on".

Macabe began coaching indoor volleyball at Red Storm out of Baton Rouge in 2014, in 2020 Macabe became the Owner of Red Storm Beach, where he has been able to introduce and coach beach volleyball to 100s of young athletes, host tournaments and events, and grow the sport of Beach Volleyball in the Baton Rouge area.

Macabe also spent his late twenties coaching Beach Volleyball at the collegiate level for SLU & LSU.

Macabe has always wanted to grow the sport of beach volleyball in Denham Springs & the surrounding areas and is excited for the opportunity to do so. Macabe hopes to create a Complex Culture that is focused on staying active, socializing, improvement, and having fun. He also hopes to grow the game from the ground up by hosting events for both Middle School aged and High School aged athletes. Macabe believes that everyone should have an active & social hobby and thinks that beach volleyball is a great choice. Volleyball has been an avenue for relationships for Macabe throughout the years, meeting friends, mentors, business partners & tons of great people.

We are excited to grow the sport of Beach Volleyball here in Denham Springs and we hope community members are excited too! See you in the Sand!
